Suggestions for Choke RP Server
First of all I would like to say that I have a few negative and a lot of positive comments about the server overall, and I am here to offer my suggestions and things that should be changed immediately before people start thinking about leaving.
To start off I will go over the rules and suggest what should be taken out and put in. Firstly, the rule No.1 states: "Please no numbers and silly none-roleplay names" This point is disobeyed by almost all players, also it crosses rule No.15, which states "Your in game name must remain the same ... as the one your forum name" This forces players to use a non RP name as you cannot really fit in an RP name in the forums, for example my name being Atroix instead of Toren Oakenshield. To fix this, everyone could be given a potion of appearance to change this and it must be realistic, for example Jungle Jim, that is kind of unrealistic (Not Witch Hunting - He is a cool guy).
Second of all, the application form must be remade as it is very simple to get in. I understand that friends of friends are applying, however that doesn't make them anymore special than other people and that doesn't mean they must be accepted. I suggest application forms to also not be visible by others and be done by using things like Google Forms or Private Messages to avoid copying. To make the form better and more RP wise, you could ask the person to define the terms of Metagaming, NLR, RDM, etcetera and also state their experience.
Furthermore in game chat is a really big problem for me and possibly others. The problem in it is this: Normally Metagaming is not allowed on servers, however on here it clearly seems that people are just chatting RP wise on the all chat using Non RP language such as "sup", etcetera, which is kind of unrealistic and that breaks Metagaming. People speak Out of Character and In Character to each other on that chat and it confuses me since I dont know what they are talking about, also they organize meetings there etc and say things like "this guy has a base there". This makes players aware of things In Character from Out of Character knowledge and here is an example scenario: Person 1 says: "Person 2 has steel ingots!", Person 2 gets raided. This could happen with this chat and that is very unappealing for me and others.
Last but not least I want to discuss microphones. I have come across many people in game who speak on TS to eachother and don't want to communicate with me in game and just tell me to come on TS and speak to them. I find this really annoying and frustrating since they have a perfectly good microphone to use.
Please don't take this negatively, but take this to improve. I was originally looking for a serious RP server to play on, however this needs a lot of improvement to become RP (We are very close) and I am gladly going to stay here and watch you guys grow and improve and become and RP server.
